What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the presenting of words and ideas of others as if they were your own. it includes copying sections from books, articles and websites without indicating a quotation and acknowledging the author. Paraphrasing is also considered plagiarism when the author of the original work has not been acknowledged, including copying from your fellow students.

Teacher's at the college can:
  •  Give you a zero mark for a plagiarised task
  • Send a letter home
  • Any mark that is given does not count towards your overall assessment
  • For HSC students this can put your awarding of the HSC in jeopardy (see the AMOW tab)
Reference and Cite correctly to avoid any plagiarism issues. If you are unsure ask your teacher or the library for help
